Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is a church in London. Its a Masterpiece from the 13th to 16th centuries. Most of the ruler of the kingdom were being crowend in this church and also buried. There have been 38 coronations since 1066. The Westminster Abbey church is about 754 years old and is still in a good shape. The highest point of the church is 2.972 m² high. The Chruch is assigned in three parts. In one of them is an old organ from 1937. Over one million people vistit the Westminter Abbey church yearly.

London eye

The London eye is one of the most popular sights in London. It’s the second biggest ferris wheel in the world and the biggest in Europe. It was built in 1998. It was opened at 31st of December 1999. It’s 135m high. The ride takes 30 minutes. The London eye has 32 gondoals. One children card costs 40,95 € or 34,79 £. One adult card costs 44,95 € or 38,62 £. Out of the window you can see the Westminster Abbey, the Big Ben, the Tower Bridge and the Buckingham Palace. Every day there are over 10.000 passengers on board. I was in London last year in the London eye and it was very cool.

Saint Paul‘s Cathedral

The Saint Paul‘s Cathedral is 111m high and 158m wide. It was built 1710. The construction began in 1675. Prince Charles and Lady Diana married in 1981. Sir Christopher Wren, Alexander Fleming and Admiral Lord Nelson werde buried there. The Saint Paul‘s Cathedral is a well-know church. The architect was Sir Christopher Wren. The church is cruciform. The church is one of the biggest churches in this world. The Saint Paul‘s Cathedral has the english baroque architectural style.

Bigben

The Bigben open at 31.5.1859 and is 96m tall. He has 11 floors and the architectural style is gothic revival. The entrance kost 80 pfund and only british are allowed to visit Bigben. The tip is made of cast iron. The Bigben wars earlier a Clock Tower. He weighs approximately 13,7 tons and stands in London with 8 windows. In the bigben are 1000 rooms. The Bigben can we hear more than 14 kilometres remote and he is a clock. Bigben of english is ,,the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster‘‘. He is in fact, sometimes burned down on 17.10.1857. The Bigben is a beautiful sights and very popular.

Big Ben

Big ben is one of the most popular places of interest in London and symbols of England.Every year many people visit the capital of Great Britain to see it take some photos with it in the background.It is thought that Big Ben is a high tower with Avery big clock, but that’s not really true.Infact,this tower is called Saint Stephens tower, but people, even those who live in the UK,are used to calling it “Big Ben”.Actually,Big Ben is the huge bell inside the building,its weight is about thirteen tons and it rings every hour daily:once a tone o’clock,twice at two o’clock and soon.How ever,people who live near the tower can there at New Years Night how the bell strikes thirteen.It’s considered to be the biggest bell ever made in the country.The bell was firstly used in 1859 and was cracked soon because of the heavy hammer, which struck to strong.After this situation the hammer was changed,but that crack is still there.There are many hypotheses for the origin of the name “Big Ben”.The most popular one suggest that the bell was named ofter “Sir Benjamin Hall”,who was responsible for the installation.Some of people say he was really tall and that’s why this bell is called big, but the majority believe it is called big because of its size.Big Ben is one of the best-known landmarks in Europe.Nowadays the world Big Ben connects the bell.the clock and the tower at some time.The tower is closed to the general public, but people with a “special interest” might offer an excursion for additional payment.

Towerbridge

The Towerbridge is a pretty nice bridge in London that is over a 100 years old by now.
It was origanlly open in 1894 for the public and was started building in 1886.
The actuall street that goes over it is the Street A100.
It is an bascule bridge (Klappbrücke) and not just a normal bridge.
Over one side of the bridge is the Tower on London, thats on the north side.
On the other side of it is the the big Cityhall, thats on the south side.
There are 40.000 people and cars going over ist every single day and the cars cross over in 9 m of hight.
In total the bridge is 244m long and the longest longest span is 61 m.
The bridge lays between thee coordinates 51* 30′ 20″ N and 0* 4′ 32″ W .
The one thinking of the bridge also called the planner was Horace Jones.
